Proven Commitment to South Weymouth

  • Secured two million dollars in funding for improvements to Columbian Square and an additional $430,000 for the restoration of the historic Fogg Library
  • Worked closely with Department of Public Works officials to minimize impacts to the Great Pond Road, Pine Circle, Lakewood Road, Oakcrest Road and Robinswood Road neighborhoods during construction of new water treatment plant
  • Attended and provided input at all South Weymouth Naval Air Base re-use meetings working on behalf of District 6 residents to ensure that development would be appropriate for the area
  • Stood up to developers to ensure that the Union Street gate remains closed to vehicle traffic, thus protecting the quality of life and public safety for residents in the area
  • Attended and participated in over 100 clean-up meetings to ensure that the Navy upholds the commitment to completely clean up polluted sites left behind at the former Naval Air Station
  • Stood with residents of the Weathervane and Union Street neighborhoods to oppose the placement of a cell tower in an inappropriate setting close to a residential area; proposal was successfully defeated
  • Advocate for increased manpower, resources and modernized equipment for Police and Fire personnel who keep our neighborhoods safe
  • Participated in discussions with town officials, residents and business owners to develop a workable plan to address traffic and parking issues in Columbian Square
  • Worked to mitigate neighborhood impacts of new Walgreens and CVS
  • Supported budget funding to provide additional teachers in the classroom
  • Worked with the Mayor and DPW to identify distressed roadways and sidewalks throughout District 6 and prioritize them for repaving and maintenance
  • Authored new Utility and Excavation Ordinance to require a standard for contractors to restore the town's roadways and sidewalks after work is performed
  • Advocate for increased funding for veterans and senior citizens programs
